A typical HootCourse

Sitting in a lecture hall with 400 fellow students and can't get your instructor's attention? Swing by your HootCourse and post a tweet. If the instructor has the page open, the tweet will appear within 15 seconds for them to see. If the instructor happens to miss it, your classmates might just come to the rescue.

The Mini-Client (left)

The mini client can be embedded on content pages just like this one or on pages that are deep inside big, mean course management systems. Like the mini-client's big brother, it'll update every 15 seconds and allow users to filter tweets by type: instructor tweets, questions, or links.

Course Creation

You'll need to sign in to see this in action, but if you have a Twitter user name, then you already have an account! Swing by hootcourse.com, sign in, click "Create a new course" on the right, and enter a name, description, and a hashtag. That's all it takes. Your fancy new HootCourse is ready to rock.

Getting Students into your HootCourse

No problem. Once you've created it just send them your handy public page. If they have a Twitter account, they can start participating in just seconds. If they don't, they can check out the course's public page before deciding whether or not to jump on the Twitter bandwagon.

Student Management

Is an unscrupulous user raining on your educational parade? Course instructors can kick'em from the course's student statistics page (which is only accessible to course members). They won't even see it coming.
